More than 1250 years is Altötting the spiritual centre of Bavaria, more than 500 years it is the most important Marian pilgrimage place in Germany, it belongs between "Shrines of Europe", six great European Marian pilgrimage places. The image "Our Lady of Altötting" in the Chapel of Grace is the target of many pilgrims.
